They celebrate life everyday. Junagarh
fort in Bikaner is measured as one of
India's most extraordinary fort complex
.The walls are bejeweled with carved stones,
marble, paintings, and inlaid semi-precious
stones. It is built entirely of red sandstone.
It has been perceived as the finest sample
of Rajput architecture. A different ruler
built each palace in the complex; over
the centuries it is one of a few main
forts in Rajasthan not built on a hilltop.
It has following buidlings within its
complex:
|
Suraj Pol
Karan Mahal
Durga Niwas
Lal Niwas
|
Anup Mahal
Chandra Mahal and Phul Mahal
Fort Museum |
|
The Anup Mahal is one of the most exciting
rooms in the fort complex. White plaster
pillars are decorated in sophisticated patterns
and covered with gold leaf. In a land where
water is rare, the Badal Mahal or Cloud
Palace's walls are painted with a fresco
of rain clouds. The Rain Fresco photograph
illustrates a painting of Lord Krishna and
Radha, surrounded by the blue cloud motif.
You can live beauty and Majesty at the same
time, visiting Junagarh Fort.
