Shekhawati's entire region is known for its exquisite frescoes and that’s why it’s popul arly called the "open art gallery".Thelandscape here is totally exposed - flat and colourless, which makes it more interesting. The city is dominated by the forts of Mandawa and Mukundgarh as a few interesting havelis and sprawling forts now have been converted into a heritage hotel.

The Piramal Haveli in Bazar, Shekhavati, has traditional courtyards enclosed by colonial pillared corridors. Frescoes of flying angels and gods in motor cars adorn the walls.
